The Practice, established in 1962, is a member of The Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings (SPAB), Ecclesiastical Architects and Surveyors Association (EASA), Architects Accredited in Building Conservation (AABC), Institute of Historic Buildings Conservation (IHBC) and The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA)

The Practice was one of the first to actively take up the needs of proper conservation of ancient buildings and carry out sympathetic restoration. The Practice carries out all building work in a traditional manner.

Undertook her training at The South Bank University in London.  She joined the practice in 2000 after working for several private practises and Bedfordshire County Council.  She is an Architect Accredited in Building Conservation (AABC), is on the Approved List of Architects for Quinquennial Inspections for The Diocese of St. Albans, Ely, Oxfordshire and Peterborough. Laurane has 20 years of Architectual experience. She has an impressive portfolio of alterations and restoration works to listed buidings including Grade I churches, detailed Quinquennial Inspections, full specifications and schedule of works for DAC and English Heritage approvals, and provides assistance when obtaining grants. Other projects including swimming pools, doctor’s surgeries, village/church halls, church extensions and general alterations.

We have regular contact with Structural Engineers, Mechanical, Electrical Engineers, Planning Supervisors, Quantity Surveyors and other Architectual Assistants- all available to help in the team.  Other staff are taken on as needed by the workflow.
