St Katherine's church is nicely placed amid well established cedar trees but it was these trees which caused the render to be continuosly damp and live.The porch and the east chancel walls had severe live render which was falling off and the walls below were decaying . Underneath the live render was the original cobble walling stone which was restored. The walls to the porch were rebuilt and during the east chancel wall restoration a very interesting section of C18 decorative pargetting at the apex of the east chancel wall was found and also restored. |
